Obituary: Gossett, Nancy Raye (Zimmerman)

Age 74

GOSSETT, Nancy Raye (Zimmerman) Passed into the arms of her Savior and best friend, Jesus Christ, on March 30, 2014, surrounded by her extensive and loving family.

After a brief illness, she stepped as a conqueror into eternity.

Born to Glenn and Margaret Zimmerman (both deceased) on April 12, 1940, in Poplar, Montana, the oldest of eight, Nancy graduated from Holy Names High School in Spokane in 1958.

She found her soul mate, Gary L. Gossett and they married in 1976.

Between them, they raised eight children.

Gary and Nancy owned several businesses, but were forever changed when they committed their lives to Jesus Christ.

Their passion became seeing people’s lives changed.

As leaders in several churches over many years, and currently pastors at Lakeside Church in Liberty Lake, they comforted the wounded in heart and mind, the homeless on the streets and the hopeless in any environment.

On many occasions, people with no place else to go were welcomed into their home.

Nancy’s favorite verse was I Corinthians 13:8 ” Love never fails” and she had a giant portion of love to give away.

She knew that the love she received from Jesus was for everyone and, at 6 feet tall, she was not afraid to wrap anyone in her arms.

She never met a stranger, even calling people she did not personally know, to tell them how loved they were.

She was a regal, graceful woman of honor who lived love.

Survived by her husband, Gary, of Spokane, her children: Michael (Lucy) T. Brown of Spokane, Kevin (Janie) C. Farrell of Spokane, Kelly G. Farrell of Spokane, Ryan F. Farrell of Spokane, and Sean B. Farrell of Seattle; three step children: Kimberlee (Kevin) Melcher of Spokane, Todd (Kathye) Gossett of Spokane, and Tiffany (Tim) T. Zuck of Spokane; siblings: Larry (Mary) Zimmerman of Spokane, Sara (Kevin) Martin of Spokane, Suzi Stone of Spokane, Dave (Roma) Zimmerman of Spokane, Mary Margaret (Allison) Zimmerman of San Jose, California, Ben (Susan) Zimmerman of Parker, Colorado, Gary (Marilyn) Zimmerman of Missoula, Montana, uncle Dubby (Lang) of Virginia, twenty-four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A victory celebration will take place at 11 a.m. on Good Friday, April 18, at Lakeside Church in Liberty Lake (23129 E. Mission Avenue).

In lieu of flowers, make a donation to a local mission (e.g.

Union Gospel Mission).
