In brief: COPS West closed for maintenance

WEST CENTRAL – COPS West, 1901 W. Boone Ave., is temporarily closed for maintenance and reorganization.

COPS program manager Christy Hamilton said the bathrooms in the building needed some work and that the office area needed to be cleaned up and organized.

“We plan to reopen on May 5,” Hamilton said.

Urban gardening session potluck planned

WEST CENTRAL – Spokane Master Gardeners Jan Baker and Steve Nokes are giving a presentation on urban vegetable, flower and container gardening on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at The Nest at Kendall Yards, 1335 Summit Parkway.

The event is for West Central residents. Please bring potluck-style snacks.

Donations to the Spokane Master Gardener Association are suggested.

SpokAnimal plans egg hunt for dogs

HIGH BRIDGE PARK – SpokAnimal is hosting an Easter egg hunt for dogs at the Dog Park at High Bridge Park, 163 S. A St., on Saturday with registration opening at 9 a.m. and the doggy egg hunt beginning at 10 a.m.

The Easter Bunny will be there for photos.
