In brief: New passwords urged on health care accounts

From Wire Reports

WASHINGTON – People who have accounts on the enrollment website for President Barack Obama’s signature health care law are being told to change their passwords following an administration-wide review of the government’s vulnerability to the confounding Heartbleed computer virus.

Senior administration officials said there is no indication that the HealthCare.gov site has been compromised and the action is being taken out of an abundance of caution. The government’s Heartbleed review is ongoing, the officials said, and users of other websites may also be told to change their passwords in the coming days, including those with accounts on the popular WhiteHouse.gov petitions page.

Easter egg hunt yields man’s body under deck

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A Tennessee woman says she made a grisly discovery while hunting for Easter eggs in her backyard with her 3-year-old son: a dead body.

Tara Hanouskova said she had noticed a foul smell but didn’t find the source until Wednesday, when she noticed tennis shoes in the crawl space under her deck while hunting for eggs with her son.

Her son didn’t notice the man’s body, and police investigated discreetly, she said.

“They were very respectful; they tread lightly,” Hanouskova said. “My son has no idea what happened.”

She said she doesn’t know how the man got there.

Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said the man had been dead about two weeks.

Meanwhile, police are still trying to determine who the man is and why he was under the deck.

Miss America won’t be at prom, and he’s suspended

YORK, Pa. – A Pennsylvania high school student is in hot water for asking Miss America to his prom during a question-and-answer session at school.

Patrick Farves, 18, said he received three days of in-school suspension Thursday because he asked reigning beauty queen Nina Davuluri to the prom.

The senior at Central York High School stood up and popped the question, then walked to the stage with a plastic flower. Davuluri just laughed and the students cheered.

School officials heard about Farves’ plan in advance and warned him not to do it. He has apologized for disrupting the event.
