Obituary: Deardorff, Robert “Papa”

Age 87

DEARDORFF, Robert “PaPa” (Age 87) Robert Deardorff, of Spokane, WA, passed away April 18, 2014 at Manor Care Facility in Spokane, WA.

Bob was born May 27, 1926 in Sheridan, Missouri, to William J. Deardorff and Gladys (Jones) Deardorff.

Bob was a WWII Veteran.

He had his own tire business for many years.

In 1976, Bob built an arena for children young and old to ride in the western games.

He donated the use of the arena to a family oriented non-profit organization.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William Jr., Berle, Finas, Gale and Theresa Matozzi (sister).

He is survived by, Joyce White, Junnie Thrasher, Cherry Dabner (sisters), Danny Deardorff (brother).

Bob is also survived by his seven children, Linda White, Carol and Floyd Draine, Dennis Deardorff, Kathy Deardorff, Robbie VanGrimbergen, Pam and Carl Burrows, Debbie Braman; numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.

There was also many children that loved him and claimed him as their Pa. You will be loved and missed but never forgotten.

The visitation will be held 4:00-8:00pm on Friday April 25, 2014 at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division Spokane, WA 99207.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 11:00am at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Chewelah Memorial Park at 1:00pm.

Celebration of life at 3:00pm, Hillyard VFW , 2909 E. Diamond, Spokane, WA.
