Spokane Valley Tween Club - Just for tweens in grades 4-6. Join us monthly at 4 p.m. as we have some snacks, make things, play games and more. Today, Calling All Superheroes - Grab your mask and secret identity (cape optional) and come to the library to explore the science of superheroes with an afternoon of superhero crafts, trivia, and challenges. “Seussical” - This Dr. Seuss classic integrates the storylines from more than 20 of Seuss’ works, using each tiny town and bizarre species of creature as inspiration. The result is a production that takes the audience on an unpredictable ride through the depths of fantasy: from the miniature houses of Whoville to the wild greenery of the Jungle of Nool. Healthy Kids Day - Celebrating YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day with a free community event that encourages kids to get moving and learning, and families living healthier. Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being, takes place at 1,900 Ys and kick-starts healthier behaviors now and throughout the summer, a critical out-of-school time for children’s health. Kiwani’s Club District 46 “Paint-a-Helmet” event - Division 46 Kiwanis Clubs will be giving away 1,000 FREE fitted bicycle helmets to children ages 3-16. Children must be accompanied by an adult and fitted onsite. Many community participating organizations will be on hand such as The Spokane Humane Society, Civil Air Patrol, Campfire Girls, SCOPE, and several others to provide free safety programs for children.
