Now, the sharp-witted Oliver finally gets his own piece of television real estate with this irreverent and satirical weekly news program. Expect offbeat interviews and commentary, some pretaped segments and lots of unbridled hilarity. 8 and 11 p.m. Sunday, HBO.

MONDAY: We expect a killer season finale from “The Following.” Ryan and Joe (Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy) are forced to put their differences aside and work together in order to save the woman they both love. 9 p.m., Fox.
MONDAY: “All About Ann: Governor Richards of the Lone Star State” is a profile of the late Texas chief executive. The film recalls how she was born into poverty and rose to prominence after delivering the keynote address at the 1988 Democratic National Convention. 6 and 9 p.m., HBO.
TUESDAY: On the new sitcom “Playing House,” an expectant mother (Lennon Parham) kicks out her husband after learning he has been cheating and invites her BFF (Jessica St. Clair) to move in and help raise the baby. We assume that it gets funnier from there. 10 p.m., USA.
WEDNESDAY: Why does this not surprise us? On “Suburgatory,” air-headed Dalia (Carly Chaikin) is rejected by the only college to which she applied. Now, her mom (Cheryl Hines) is determined to help Dalia find her true calling. 8:30 p.m., ABC.
THURSDAY: What, another awards show? Yes, the “iHeartRadio Music Awards” joins the fun with an event at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles that showcases the biggest stars and songs of the year – as determined by fans. 8 p.m., NBC.
FRIDAY: On “Hawaii Five-0,” McGarrett and Catherine (Alex O’Loughlin, Michelle Borth) venture off the island, but not for fun. They’re in Afghanistan trying to rescue a boy whose family saved Catherine’s life years earlier. 9 p.m., CBS.
SATURDAY: In the new TV film, “A Daughter’s Nightmare,” a college freshman (Emily Osment) worries that the mysterious man (Gregg Sulkin) who has befriended her lonely widowed mother might not have the best intentions in mind. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
