Provide information on votes

In an April 19 letter to the editor, John Thielbahr wrote about the lack of information in the newspaper concerning how our senators and representatives voted on issues that are important to us. I agree with Thielbahr, and that this information needs to be printed, particularly those of importance in our 5th Congressional District. The only way we can know what is taking place is to read the substance of the bill and know how our congressional representatives voted.

The website www.congress.org/congressorg/megavote/ lists recent and upcoming congressional votes. The Spokesman-Review should publish similar information. This information would be space-worthy and most informative for us. The upcoming votes are particularly important as it would give constituents an opportunity to contact our legislators and give them our input before the votes are taken.

In these times of discord, we need to know the facts and not the rhetoric.
