Organizers of the eighth annual event hoped to draw 10,000 runners and walkers to the 5-kilometer course. All funds from the event go to breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs. Komen events nationwide also celebrate breast cancer survivorship and honor those who have lost their battle with the disease. (Kathy Plonka)
