Body found on porch of mobile home

Sheriff’s office investigating death of woman

Spokane deputies wait for detectives to investigate the suspicious death of a woman found on a porch during a welfare check on Friday, August 1, 2014, at Mullen Hill Terrace in Spokane, Wash. (Tyler Tjomsland)
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found on the porch of a mobile home on South Mullen Hill Road. A neighbor called 911 shortly before 1 p.m. today to report seeing the woman on the porch of a blue home in the Mullen Hill Terrace mobile home park and asked paramedics to check on her. The woman has marks on her body and deputies are treating it as a suspicious death, said Sgt. Bill Beeman. Deputies are canvassing the neighborhood asking residents if they saw or heard anything suspicious, Beeman said, but many people are at work. “We don’t really know if anything has gone on (here) in the last 24 hours,” he said. Major Crimes detectives will be handling the investigation. The woman’s identity will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner after an autopsy.
