WSU football’s Drew Loftus arrested again

PULLMAN – Washington State wide receiver Drew Loftus was arrested for assault in the fourth degree early Thursday morning, his 21st birthday.

Pullman police Sgt. Dan Dornes said officers responded to a call at Domino’s Pizza on Northeast Monroe Street, where two witnesses claimed to have been assaulted by a suspect, who was fleeing on foot.

The victims were in Stubblefield’s bar and taking video of the atmosphere. They said that Loftus and another football player were upset at being recorded because they were not supposed to be in the bar.

Once outside a victim claims he was punched by Loftus, who then ran off.

This is the walk-on receiver’s third brush with the law and his second since transferring to WSU from Hawaii. In 2011 Loftus was arrested on suspicion of car prowling and in 2013 he was arrested after trying to steal a pair of tequila bottles from Dissmore’s Grocery on North Grand Avenue.

Loftus was dismissed from the team following the theft but was allowed back on the team for the 2013 season.
