Give and take: Sunday letter

Indian Canyon local jewel

I agree with Patrick Hurley’s letter 100 percent (Indian Canyon Needs Renovation, July 27). The city does not know what an economic jewel they have. On a weekend there will always be visitors from Seattle or, more commonly, from all over Canada. Indian Canyon is on their must-play list. The tourist dollars it brings must be substantial and it is my belief that the City has no clue, nor does the feckless Parks Department.

The costs for the new boondoggle for Riverfront Park should be cut in half and part used to renew Indian Canyon which was badly hurt this past winter. Spokane is a golf mecca and The Canyon is its jewel.
