Art on the Green Festival – The 46th annual celebration transforms the NIC campus into an outdoor art gallery and marketplace, with summer food fare, live music on two stages, hands-on art activities for children and more. Plenty of parking and shuttle bus service to the west side of the NIC campus from downtown is also available during the festival. No dogs allowed at the festival. Sandbox Sewing - If you would like to work on your projects with other friendly stitchers, this is the place to be. Every Tuesday at 9 a.m. in August will be open sewing for anyone who wants to start or finish their projects. Corbin will be accepting items for mending or alteration on the last Tuesday of the month. Donations for this service will go directly to Corbin Center. Tree School - The Spokane Conservation District and Spokane County WSU Extension are planning an educational event for foresters, arborists, small forest owners and backyard gardeners who want to expand their skills and knowledge. Paws in the Pool - Aug. 24-25. On Sunday, dogs weighing up to 59 pounds can swim from 1 to 2:15 p.m.; dogs weighing 60 pounds or more can swim from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. On Monday, dogs weighing up to 59 pounds can swim from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.; dogs weighing 60 pounds or more can swim from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Dogs must be 6 months or older and you must bring current vaccination record.
