EWU basketball to open season at home

From Staff Reports

Three home games will open the upcoming Eastern Washington men’s basketball schedule, the school announced Tuesday.

The Eagles open with a trio of home games against Texas Southern (Nov. 14), Utah Valley (Nov. 17) and Walla Walla (Nov. 19) as part of a 31-game regular-season schedule that also includes trips to Washington (Dec. 14) and California (Dec. 22).

In all, the Eagles will play seven of 13 nonconference games at home.

Eastern opens Big Sky Conference play at home on New Year’s Day against defending champion Weber State, and renews an old rivalry on Jan. 10 with a trip to Idaho.

After an 18-year absence, Idaho is returning to the Big Sky for all sports except football; the return game will be Jan. 31 at Reese Court.

The Big Sky tournament will be held March 12-14 at the home of the regular-season champion.

Last year, the Eagles finished 10-10 in the Big Sky and 15-16 overall.
