In brief: Free carnival offered today

SPOKANE VALLEY – Residents and staff of Prestige Senior Living at Sullivan Park, 421 S. Adams Road, will present a free family carnival today from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event will include a magic show, dunk tank, bounce house, face painting, funnel cakes and more. There will also be games and prizes. For more information, call (509) 924-5555.

Free dump passes for neighborhood

NORTHWEST – The Northwest Neighborhood Association will distribute 65 free dump passes to neighborhood residents on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at COPS Northwest, 2215 W. Holy Names offers free music day

MUKOGAWA FORT WRIGHT – Holy Names Music Center, 3910 W. Custer Drive, will celebrate Community Music Day on Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day features free 30-minute music lessons and many child-friendly activities such as how to make an instrument, yard games and face painting.
