Pakootas knows people’s needs

Joe Pakootas is running against Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers in the 5th Congressional District. The difference between the candidates couldn’t be starker.

Pakootas supports a woman’s right to equal pay, and our ability to make our own health care decisions. McMorris Rodgers voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act and thinks birth control is a form of abortion. McMorris Rodgers voted to cut SNAP funding that feeds hungry children, and against extending unemployment benefits, even to jobless veterans returning from war. Pakootas knows people need food security and a safety net during hard times.

Pakootas has real business and job-creation experience. McMorris Rodgers has spent her entire adult life working in tax-supported government positions.

McMorris Rodgers favors selling off public lands for private gain. Pakootas values our publicly held federal lands and supports protecting them for future generations.

Pakootas recognizes affordable health care as a right, not a privilege. McMorris Rodgers voted 54 times to repeal the only broad-based health care law this country has ever had and offers only vague platitudes as an alternative.

Pakootas is one of us. McMorris Rodgers has become a woman of corporate interests and D.C. politics.

We deserve good representation. Elect Joe Pakootas.
