CdA police look for suspect in shooting

Coeur d'Alene Police are looking for this man, suspected in a shooting Saturday night outside a bar.
Coeur d’Alene police arrested a man Sunday for aggravated assault and aggravated battery, both felonies, in connection with a shooting outside a bar Saturday night that left a man with a minor leg injury. Erik Henninger, 32, of Coeur d’Alene, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. He allegedly fired a gun in the north parking lot of the Corner Bar, 1628 N. 4th St., about 10:18 p.m. Saturday. An officer chased the suspect on foot to the area of 5th and Spruce streets, where K9 Officer A.J. Winstead and her partner Pecco began to track the suspect. A multi-agency perimeter with Idaho State Police, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police Department officers was set up. The K9 unit tracked the suspect for a distance but was unable to locate him Saturday night. One male who was outside the bar suffered a minor injury to his leg from the discharge of the gun. He was not taken to the hospital for treatment. The Coeur d’Alene Police Department and North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force collaborated in the investigation and apprehension of Henninger.
