Pakootas would care

Talking out of both sides of her mouth, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers professes to care for the people of the 5th Congressional District while consistently voting against them. In her home county alone, the unemployment rate was 30 percent above the national average, with one in five on food stamps and one in six below the poverty level.

So Cathy voted against them. She voted to cut food stamps for them and voted to cut emergency benefits to the unemployed. She has voted 54 times to kill the Affordable Care Act. Wisely, people in her district ignore her and are racing to get affordable care. No matter what she says, actions show Cathy votes against her constituents. Cathy is a political career climber, stepping on her constituents as she climbs.

Joe Pakootas, who also wants to represent the 5th District, believes affordable health care is a right, not a privilege. He believes in feeding hungry people and providing a safety net for people during hard times. Our choice is simple: Tell Cathy to find something else to climb, and let’s send Joe Pakootas to Washington, D.C., to truly represent us.

I did not realize that we are paying for Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ campaign. Between her residences in Washington, D.C., and in San Diego, she has decided to spend some time here.

She receives $170,000 plus a year for doing nothing except to run around after House Speaker John Boehner saying ridiculous things on CNN like, “I hope we don’t have to shut down the government.”

This political obstructionism needs to end.
