Overview: “Why is Idaho playing Florida?” isn’t a million-dollar question – just a $975,000 one. That’s the guarantee the Vandals are receiving for venturing into “The Swamp” as 36 1/2-point underdogs. Coach Paul Petrino hasn’t named a starting quarterback, but both 2013 starter Chad Chalich and redshirt freshman Matt Linehan will get snaps. A bigger concern is Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel, back off a fractured leg that ended his 2013 season, and new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper and what they might have planned for Idaho’s defense, which ranked 121st among 123 FBS teams last year. Newcomers Irving Steele at linebacker and Chris Edwards at safety should make the Vandals a little saltier.
