Obituary: Webb, Brian M.

Age 89

WEBB, Brian M. (Age 89) Brian was born on July 5, 1925 in Spokane, WA to John and Phyllis Meilicke Webb, deceased.

He passed away on August 12, 2014.

Brian attended West Valley and Central High Schools.

He was a Spokesman-Review carrier and driver.

Brian enlisted in the US Maritime Service-Merchant Seaman from 1944 to 1947.

Brian served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954, stationed in Mainz, Germany in the 2nd Armored Division, 14th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, Hell on Wheels.

Brian worked for the US Postal Service from 1955 until 1989, retiring after 35 years.

In 1951 Brian married Marlys Ashbaugh at St. John’s Cathedral.

They enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Priest Lake, Idaho for 35 years.

They also enjoyed traveling the United States, especially the Oregon Coast.

They had three poodles that they dearly loved over their 59 years of marriage.

Marlys predeceased him in 2010.

Brian was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2, American Legion, NARF, National Association of Retired Letter Carriers, American Postal Workers Union and attended Shiloh Hills Baptist Church being baptized at the age of 85.

Brian is preceded in death by his sisters Phyllis Nelson and Marilyn Webb.

He is survived by nephews Dennis and Pat Webb, Arne and Andrew Nelson; niece Melannie Loppnow, special friends Jim and Nora Pinter and family.

Inurnment will take place at 2:30pm on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Riverside Memorial Park followed by a Memorial Service at 3 pm at Heritage Funeral Home.
