Man arrested after allegedly making bomb threat to Hayden elementary school

An elementary school in Hayden was evacuated Friday afternoon after a man called in a bomb threat, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office reported. Investigators believe that Jacob R. Moore, 25, of Coeur d’Alene, called in the threat, which was received about 1 p.m. at Atlas Elementary School, 3000 W. Honeysuckle Ave., the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Police used caller ID to link Moore to the threat, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Sheriff’s deputies, Coeur d’Alene Police, Idaho State Police and the Northern Lakes Fire District responded and led children to the Panhandle Health District building, which is just south of the school. After responders searched the building an determined the threat was false, children were escorted back. Moore, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on a charge of making a false report of a bomb at a school and other charges.
