Obituary: Millar, Betsy Jon

MILLAR, Betsy Jon Betsy Jon Millar (nĂŠe Gerhart) went quietly to meet her Heavenly Father on December 7, 2014 in Spokane Washington at the age of 68 years old.

Betsy is survived by her daughters, Mandy Stewart and Kirsten Weekly of Spokane Valley, Washington.

Betsy was also a wonderful grandmother to Vince Slawter, Hayden Weekly and Sydney Stewart, and also a great- grandmother to Kinley Slawter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Gerhart, and her grandson Alex Weekly.

Betsy was born on September 10, 1946 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to Jon and Margaret Gerhart and was their only child.

She graduated from West Virginia University in 1968 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

She married Tracy Millar, an United States Air Force pilot in 1968.

After moving to Spokane Washington Betsy began working first at Kentucky Fried Chicken, later working for years in the garden department for Ernst Hardware.

Betsy was also a very committed volunteer for the charitable organization HasBeens and GonnaBees, helping to provide wonderful Christmases for local families in need.

A memorial is scheduled for December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Thornhill Valley Chapel 1400 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley Washington.

Mrs. Monty C. (Julie) Trusley will officiate the ceremony.
