Resident conductor Morihiko Nakahara and the Spokane Symphony will treat you to a selection of festive music (old and new), including a singalong and a visit from Santa.

2: Bret Michaels

Legendary ’80s glam metal star is best known as the frontman of the band Poison, which sold more than 30 million records, including the popular power ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” In the late ’90s, Michaels broke into a solo career that has spanned more than a decade.

3: Clarion Brass’ ‘This Is What Christmas Sounds Like’

Spokane’s virtuoso brass masters bring their quirky, playful and gorgeous original take on seasonal favorites. The jolly old lead elf for Clarion Brass, William Berry, hammers out sparkling new music every year and drops them down the chimneys of good little brass ensembles all over the globe.

6: ‘All is Calm’

The Modern Theater Coeur d’Alene’s a capella musical about the Christmas truce of 1914 during World War I finishes its run in Coeur d’Alene on Sunday, then comes to Spokane for a one-night engagement on Christmas Eve.
