They all moved to downtown Spokane after his parents acquired the Montvale Apts.

He went to Lewis and Clark High School, where he was a standout athlete.

He met Joan Giles and they graduated together from LC in January 1948.

They were married February 26, 1948 and made Spokane their home.

Ed began his love of racing cars in 1950.

First at Mead Speedway, then Wednesday nights at the Stadium.

He went on to race many tracks around the Northwest.

Ed and Joan had six children, five boys and one girl.

All his sons got the racing “bug” from their dad and Ed was fortunate to have helped all of them in their love of the sport.

He was preceded in death by his parents and middle son, Edsol Ford “Babe” Sneva.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan, his sons Tom (Sharon), Jerry (Kathy), Jan, Blaine (Martha) and daughter Robyn, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

It was Ed’s wishes for no services to be held, but the family has planned a memorial race at Stateline Speedway, ID in the upcoming racing season.

“Big Ed”, you will be dearly missed.
