Obituary: Hinchliff, Rose Mary

Age 95

In Loving Memory of HINCHLIFF, Rose Mary Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, passed away on December 16, 2014, at Sacred Heart Medical Center with her family at her bedside.

Mary was born on May 10, 1919 to Thomas and Johanna (Anna Mae) Winey in Bison, South Dakota, the oldest of six children.

The family traveled from SD seeking work during the great depression to finally settle in Post Falls, ID.

Mary met her future husband, Wendell while attending high school in Post Falls.

Mary left Post Falls for Santa Monica, CA to work in the McDonald Douglass air craft factory as a riveter.

Mary and Wendell met again when he returned to his naval base in San Diego from the South Pacific.

They married in San Diego on April 12, 1945.

They returned to Idaho and raised six children.

In 1957 the family moved to dairy farm outside Valley, Washington.

Mary was a hard worker all her life.

She enjoyed helping others, loved taking care of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was happiest when surrounded by her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jim; grandson, Dusty Schneider, her parents, four brothers, two sons-in-law, Bob Schneider and Ron Biondi, two daughters-in-law, Betty Hinchliff and Sheryl Hinchliff.

Surviving family members are Marie Schneider, Chewelah; Bill Hinchliff, Deer Park; Barbara Hinchliff, Ellensburg; Lora Biondi, Spokane; and Joan (Don) Dudney, Coeur d’Alene; grandchildren, Michelle (John) Rice, Bob (Jeni) Schneider, Stacy (Ryan) Adams, Kellie (Mark) Sheldon, Jonathan (Sophie) Hinchliff, Chad (Joan) Dudney, Jason (Julie) Hinchliff, Devin Biondi, Eric Biondi, Kim (Rich) Day, Melody Dunn, 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis Winey, numerous neices and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Valley, WA at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, with the interment to follow at St. Joesph’s Catholic Cemetery, Valley, WA.
