Spokane police recover stolen iPad
Spokane police say they’ve recovered an iPad stolen from a developmentally disabled man Tuesday morning and have a suspect in custody.
Kevin J. Dopkins, 30, was booked into Spokane County Jail just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, facing a charge of second-degree robbery. Bail was set this afternoon at $20,000.
Police believe Dopkins approached the man in the parking lot of a South Hill Walgreens store at 2800 S. Grand Blvd. around 10:15 a.m. and took the tablet, which contained software that helped the victim communicate.
Police said they located Dopkins and the stolen tablet just a few hours after the crime was reported. Officers returned the tablet to the young man.
Dopkins has previous convictions for burglary and retail theft, according to court records.
