Auditions

The Modern Theater Coeur d’Alene Auditions for upcoming production of “The Nerd” will be held Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the theater, 1320 E. Garden Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Auditions will include cold readings from the script. Roles available are four men age 26-60, one boy age 7-11, and two women, age 25-50. For information, call (208) 676-7529.

Northwest Sacred Music Chorale Auditions will be held Jan. 6 for Northwest Sacred Music’s Chorale at the Community Presbyterian Church, 417 N. Henry St., Post Falls, at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in auditioning should come prepared with a song, including music. Classes and workshops

Spokane Art School Winter Classes – Digital Photography with Roger Dubois: Students, age high school to adult, can learn how to better understand the buttons and settings on their digital camera to create better photographs. Participants are asked to bring their camera with its battery charged, memory card and their cameral manual. Jan. 13, 20, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. $108/person. Registration is required. Pastel Landscape Painting : Deanna Camp will teach Pastel Landscape Painting classes for people, ages 10 to adult. The course is an opportunity for beginning and advanced painters alike to learn and express themselves. Jan. 15, 22, 29, Feb. 5, 12, 19, 7-9 p.m. $108/person. Registration is required. pottery Wheel Workshop with Liz Bishop: Participants, age 10 to adult, will learn the process of making a pot on the potter’s wheel, along with the stages of working with clay and glazes. The course will meet at Liz Bishop’s studio, 11409 E. Alki Ave., Spokane Valley. Jan. 17, 24, 31, Feb. 7, 14, 10 a.m.-noon. $90/person, plus $30 lab fee. Space is limited. Registration is required. Christian Youth Theater – North Idaho Winter Classes CYT-North Idaho is now registering students, ages 6-18, for 2015 winter classes, beginning Jan. 6. Spokane Potters’ Guild Winter pottery classes begin Jan. 12. The eight-week course will include wheel throwing and hand building classes, and oxidation, reduction, and raku methods.
