February is for Foodies

It’s not too early to start making plans to attend Walla Walla’s monthlong epicurean celebration.

February is for Foodies features cooking classes, three-course menus at local restaurants, and wine-and-chocolate tastings – like chocolate-covered crispy bacon at Adamant Cellars.

Dozens of restaurants and wineries throughout the Walla Walla Valley participate. And many hotels and other lodgings offer special, themed packages.

‘Comfort Food’

The Old Farmer’s Almanac – known since 1792 for its weather forecasts and home, health and gardening advice – has a new cookbook featuring classic, un-fancy, feel-good food.

Its soft-cover “Comfort Food” cookbook (Yankee Publishing Inc, $19.95) has more than 200 recipes.

The book’s take on chicken noodle soup can be found on page C5.
