LILIENTHAL, John A.

“Jack” (Age 70) Entered into rest on December 24, 2014 following a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Spokane to parents Robert and Josephine Lilienthal on March 18, 1944.

Jack graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Eastern Washington University, Cheney, and Whitworth College here in Spokane.

He spent time as a teacher in the Colville area, went to work for Goodwill Industries as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor in June of 1990, and retired after 23 years in 2013.

Jack was a member of the National Rehabilitation Association, enjoyed model airplanes, photography, gardening, and watching both NASCAR and football with Lori.

Jack will be remembered by many for his caring heart, keen sense of humor, and his quick wit.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Lori; daughter Joby (Marco) Lilienthal Pinlac; sisters, Laurie (Jeff) Mitchell, Colleen (Gary) Lambert, and Susan King; brothers, Michael King, John King, mother and father-in-Law, LaRae and Terry Allred; brother-in-law, Greg Price; sister and brother-in-law, Alycyn and Bob Buckingham.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s name to the NRA: National Rehabilitation Assn., 15611 N. Meadowglen Ct., Spokane, WA 99208 or to the Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest 130 E. 3rd Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.

Memorial service will begin at 1:00PM Friday, January 2, 2015 at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA 99205.
