Obituary: Schweitzer, Mildred F. (Moore)

Age 86

SCHWEITZER, Mildred F. (Moore) Passed peacefully on January 27, 2014 at Valley Hospital, Spokane, WA surrounded by family and friends.

Born November 12, 1927 in Colville, WA.

Mom lived a full and adventurous life, raising her family with loyalty, determination and much love.

She met life’s challenges square on, never losing her wonderful sense of humor or her sense of purpose.

We loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Leonard H. Schweitzer, her parents, two brothers, a dear sister and three sons.

Survived by brother Floyd (Audrey) Moore of Medical Lake, WA; sons Gary (Alice) Slagle of Liberty Lake, WA, David (Jan) Schweitzer of Plano, TX and Neil Schweitzer of Seaside, CA; daughters Dorothy Slagle of Kettle Falls, WA and Linda McGinn of Peoria, AZ; many beloved and loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as long-time friends.

Special thanks to her caregiver Peggy Smithgall, her son Jeff Schweitzer, Tina Reeb and nephews Clifford Meyers and Curtis (Jackie) Stark.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 North Pines Road, Spokane, WA followed by a gathering for family and friends at Mildred’s home.

Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Spokane in lieu of flowers.
