Extremism undermines GOP

I loved Sally Jackson’s letter in the Feb. 1 paper. I could not agree more.

President Obama has done much for the country – especially given the hostile work environment in Washington, D.C. – but his detractors will never acknowledge any of it. Despite recent articles espousing the Republican Party’s chances of gaining seats in the Congress next fall, I believe their radical tea party faction’s extremism will ultimately sabotage that effort. Many Texans have been expressing regret at having elected the leader of the extremists, Sen. Ted Cruz, and wish they could unseat him.

The American people are sick to death of the infighting and lack of progress.
