In brief: Sheriff to speak to Spokane Valley Business Association

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley Business Association will host guest speaker Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich at its monthly meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

Knezovich will speak on “Crime and Its Effects on Local Businesses: Your Business Bottom Line.” There will be time for questions.

All are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held at the Spokane Valley Fire Department Administration Building, 2120 N. Wilbur Road.

Auditions set for ‘Masked Canary’

LIBERTY LAKE – Liberty Lake Community Theatre, 22910 E. Appleway Blvd., Suite 1, will hold auditions for “The Masked Canary,” a musical which will run April 25 through May 3.

The play revolves around a former society belle who moves to Tombstone, Ariz., and must earn a living singing at the Birdcage Theater.

Anyone 16 and older is encouraged to audition for the play which needs six females, six males, a chorus and extras.

Auditions will be today at 3 p.m. at the theater.
