J. Leo and Catherine (Tracy) McGough; brothers, Ralph, William and Martin; husband, Louis A. Chesurin; and daughter, Doris.
Survived by her daughter, Linda (Richard) Sliepen of Citrus Heights, CA; her sisters, Mary Clare Misek of Kirkland, WA; Rita Sterling of Spokane; Barbara (Keith) Burns of Meridian, ID; brother, Joseph (Violet) McGough of Spokane; sisters-in-law, Eunice McGough-Brown of Everett, WA., and Mary Carlson of Spokane; grandsons, Christopher Sliepen of Folsom, CA; Jason (Laura) Sliepen of Lincoln, CA; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Matthew Sliepen of Lincoln, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Raised on a wheat farm, she graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy, Sprague, WA., in 1939 before moving to Spokane, WA.
A founding member of St. Charles Catholic Church, she was active in several parish and charitable organizations until moving to Citrus Heights, CA., in 2005.
She was a beautician and homemaker before joining the staff at the Crescent Department Store, retiring in 1985.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and going to coffee or lunch with friends.
A great listener, she greeted everyone with a warm, pleasant smile.
She was loving and compassionate, showing genuine concern for all.
The world has lost a truly wonderful role model.
Rosary, Friday, February 14, 5:00pm at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N Division.
Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, February 15, 10:00am at St. Charles Catholic Church, 4515 N Alberta.
Interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N Wall.
