Replace McMorris Rodgers

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, from farm girl to the American Dream job. But she forgets her roots when she votes.

Stevens County, with fewer than 50,000 people, is a hard place to make a living. The unemployment rate is 30 percent above the national average. One in six lives below the poverty level; one in five is on food stamps. The leading employer is the government, which provides 3,023 of 9,580 nonfarm jobs. McMorris Rodgers voted to drastically cut food aid, resisted emergency benefits for the unemployed and has worked unrelentingly to kill the Affordable Care Act.

With people in her district flocking to Obamacare, this prior McDonald’s employee obviously used her salary back then as pocket change. She’s never tried to support a family on McDonald’s wages.

She’s been on a state or federal payroll since graduating from college. With a salary of $174,000 a year, gold health benefits and pension, she blocks improving her constituents’ lifestyle. She voted for the farm bill subsidizing corporate farms, although $9 billion was cut from the poor. She refuses to support repeal of Citizens United.

Daryl Romeyn, please run again. I know she can outspend you tenfold, but we need true representation in Eastern Washington.
