Sienko’s 24 leads Dragons

Dexter Sienko scored 24 points to lead undefeated St. George’s to a 70-47 victory over Liberty in a 2B sub-regional at Mead on Monday.

Erik Muelheims and Will Tender each chipped in 15 points for the Dragons, who face Northwest Christian for the sub-regional championship Saturday night at Mead.

Clay Fleming and Match Burnham each scored 14 points for Liberty, which will play Waitsburg-Prescott Friday night at Mead.

Northwest Christian 51, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 49: Ryan Ricks hit five 3-pointers, all in the third quarter, to lead the Crusaders past the Broncos at Mead.

Dylan Hartz scored a game-high 18 for the Broncos, who rallied in the fourth quarter, but fell short. LRS will plays Tri-Cities Prep on Friday in a loser-out game at Mt. Spokane.

Girls

Northwest Christian 64, Dayton 38: Courtney Gray had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the undefeated Crusaders past the Bulldogs in a 2B sub-regional at Mead.

Mackenzie Gray added 12 points and seven boards for the Crusaders, who face Colfax for the sub-regional championship Saturday night at Mead.

Sarah Phillips scored eight points for the Bulldogs, who will play St. George’s in a loser-out game on Friday night at Mead.

Colfax 45, DeSales 33: Scout Cai scored 18 points to lift the Bulldogs in the 2B sub-regional game at Mead.

LRS 39, Davenport 33: The Broncos dispatched the Gorillas in a 2B sub-regional game at Mt. Spokane.

Jenna Bennett and Tommi Swannack scored nine points each to lead the Broncos.

Mikaela Goerig led the Gorillas with 10 points.

LRS will take on DeSales on Friday at 8:30 at Mt. Spokane. Davenport was eliminated.

St. George’s 49, Asotin 46: Hailey Higashi scored a game-high 19 points and made two key free throws with 3 seconds left to lead the Dragons’ come-from-behind win in a 2B sub-regional game at Mt. Spokane.

St. George’s plays Dayton Friday night at Mead. Asotin’s season ended.

Down 38-35 at the end of the three, St. George’s used an 11-8 run to tie it at 46 before closing with three free throws, two by Higashi. Sarah Nicholas’ potential game-tying, 24-footer bounced in and out at the buzzer.

Ceci Bergquist scored 12 points and Allison Hayes had nine rebounds for St. George’s.

West Valley 56, Pullman 49: The Eagles, led by Erin Higbie’s 27 points, 10 rebounds, surged past the visiting Greyhounds in the fourth quarter in District 7 2A play.

The Eagles trailed 42-35 entering the final period, but forced several Greyhounds turnovers.

WV will visit rival East Valley on Wednesday.

Pullman, led by Anne Mari Petrino with 12 points, saw its season end.

Clarkston 71, Cheney 49: Jaclyn Meyers scored 32 points to lead the Bantams past the visiting Blackhawks in the District 7 2A tournament.

Clarkston will travel to Colville Wednesday night.

Kendyl Cone scored 26 points for Cheney, which was eliminated.
