Obituary: Rehman, Leroy

REHMAN, LeRoy Lifetime LaCrosse resident LeRoy Fred Rehman, 87, passed away on February 15, 2014 at Legacy Hopewell House in Portland, Oregon where he had been living the past few weeks to be closer to family.

LeRoy was born on July 27, 1926 to Fritz and Margaret (Fennimore) Rehman at LaCrosse.

He attended local schools and left LaCrosse High School in the 11th grade to begin helping on the family farm.

He spent his whole life farming wheat and raising cattle at his farm in LaCrosse.

LeRoy was a dedicated civic servant to the community of LaCrosse.

He served many years on the city council and one term as mayor; he was a 25 year plus volunteer for the LaCrosse Fire Department as well as a dedicated member of the LaCrosse Lions Club.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

LeRoy is survived by his children Gary (Cyndi) Rehman of Gresham, Oregon; Shannon (Donald) Timm of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Richard (Sandy) Rehman of Beaverton, Oregon; five grand- children and nine great-grandchildren as well as his sister Marilyn Hicks of Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorial contributions in LeRoy’s honor are suggested to the LaCrosse Scholarship Foundation or the LaCrosse EMT’s.

Friends may pay their respects at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax on Thursday and Friday from 9:00am - 4:00 pm both days.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm on Saturday at the LaCrosse United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the LaCrosse Cemetery.
