Seeking justice for more: More than two dozen protesters seeking to persuade Idaho lawmakers to add discrimination protections for gays and lesbians to the state’s Human Rights Act block two entrances to the Idaho Senate in Boise on Thursday. At a similar protest on Feb. 3, 44 demonstrators were arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing. Thursday, there were 32 arrests, said Idaho State Police spokeswoman Teresa Baker. GOP lawmakers have declined to hold a hearing on adding four words – “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” – to the Idaho Human Rights Act that currently bans workplace and housing discrimination based on race, gender or religion.
