Dogs rescued from ‘wretched’ conditions in Stevens County
More than a dozen had died, authorities say
FORD, Wash. (AP) — Stevens County authorities in northeast Washington say deputies found more than a dozen dogs dead and about three dozen others living in wretched conditions at a property in Ford.
The rescued dogs are being cared for at the Spokane Humane Society.
Volunteers helped rescue the animals last weekend.
A neighbor says two older women who used to live at the property recently moved out.
