An attack of bigotry

One of The Spokesman-Review’s political cartoonists portrays (Feb. 11) the fact that a well-known athlete announces that he is a homosexual and touts this announcement as an attack on bigotry.

I frankly don’t give a squat about the athlete’s personal preference for other men as sexual partners; personally, I find it disgusting, but I cannot accept the cartoonist’s conception that his portrayal of this action is an attack on bigotry. Granted, it is an attack on the morality of your readers, but don’t expect us to accept this ill-conceived and amateurish portrayal as an attack on bigotry.

The bigot here is your cartoonist.
