Manslaughter charged in Silver Mountain beating

A Port Angeles, Wash., man has been charged in Shoshone County, Idaho, with involuntary manslaughter in the beating of another man at Silver Mountain Resort on Friday. Brett McCallister was released from Shoshone County Jail today after posting a $20,000 bond, a jail officer said. Eric G. Crouse, 42, was airlifted from the resort on Friday to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene and died there Saturday from injuries in the beating. An autopsy was scheduled for today. Kellogg police are investigating the incident, which occurred at the resort facilities at the base of Silver Mountain in the city. A press release today from the office of county Prosecuting Attorney Keisha L. Oxendine did not provide additional details of what occurred.
