9/11 attack different

Just the facts, sir!

It is alarming to me that retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Jack Anderson (Feb. 16) does not understand the significance of Benghazi. The differences between the 9/11/01 attack and Benghazi include the fact there was time to react and save lives in Benghazi. However, the top administrators chose to stand down. Also, those same top officials deliberately lied to us for weeks afterward about the cause of the attack.

Further, Anderson has apparently forgotten other historic details. The former president and Cabinet had the support of both political parties regarding Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Unlike today’s political arena, he did not act alone, draw red lines with empty threats or have complete disrespect for public opinion.
