Fresh Sheet: Pinot’s Palette, Great Harvest, sausage feed, IHOP

Pinot’s Palette, a wine-and-art franchise with more than 50 locations nationwide, is opening Friday in Spokane.

Owner Jackie Casey, originally from Montana, attended a Pinot’s Palette class in Oklahoma and fell in love with the concept. Local artists help participants re-create a particular painting during a two- or three-hour art class.

Pinot’s Palette provides the supplies: canvas, easels, brushes, paint, even aprons. The class is $45; wine or beer is available for purchase. And painters are encouraged to bring their own snacks.

Great Harvest’s grand-reopening

Great Harvest Bread Co. is re-opening after a renovation, and a celebration is slated for Friday and Saturday.

Free pancakes, French toast and baked goods will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, and gift baskets will be raffled. There will also be a chance to check out the bakery’s new line of jams, jellies, peanut and almond butters, and spice rubs.

Sausage and more

The 61st annual Uniontown Sausage Feed takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The menu features sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, applesauce and pie. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 12, and $2 for children 6 and younger. 

The all-you-can-eat meal is first-come, first-served, but take-out can be picked up without a wait. Proceeds will help maintain Uniontown’s Community Building, the site of the fest, 206 S. Montgomery St., in Uniontown. For more information, visit www.uniontown.us.

Free pancakes

IHOP’s ninth annual National Pancake Day is Tuesday.

More than 1,500 IHOP restaurants around the country will serve free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes in an effort to raise money for charity. During the giveaway, donations will be accepted for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospitals for Children and other charities.

IHOP has raised more than $13 million since starting the campaign. This year’s goal is $3 million. For more information, visit www.ihoppancakeday.com.
