Obituary: Alton, Helen “Lorraine”

Age 80

ALTON, Helen “Lorraine” (Age 80) Lorraine was born August 19, 1933 in Bellingham, WA to Leroy and Ada Kennedy.

She peacefully passed away on February 23, 2014 at Sunshine Gardens in Spokane Valley with her family there.

Lorraine has been married to Robert Alton for 60 years.

They had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August.

She was a loving mother and homemaker most of her life.

Once her children went to college, she became a travel agent and tour guide.

She traveled around the world including Europe and Australia.

After Robert retired, they were able to begin their life passion of seeing the United States by traveling in their RV.

She had made many friends while staying at Sunshine Gardens for over five years.

A special thank you to the caregivers at Sunshine Gardens for their love and support.

Lorraine had a close personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and we know that she has joined her Lord in heaven along with those who have passed before her.

Throughout her life she always woke up with a cheerful can-do attitude.

Any trial or tribulation that came her way, she attacked it with a positive attitude.

Her strength in life will be greatly missed.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Robert; children Cheryl (Jim) Alton-Kunz and Paul (Aimee) Alton, of St. Louis, MO; brother Richard Kennedy of Portland, OR and his children Mike, Diana and Patti; grandchildren Joshua (Carley) McCormick, Bennett Alton, Elliott Alton and two great-grandchildren Alexa and Carson McCormick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes or a charity of your choice in memory of Lorraine.

A private family service will be held.
