Cuoco sends 2013 off with big bang

“The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco is starting off 2014 as a Mrs.

Cuoco’s representative says the actress wed tennis pro Ryan Sweeting in a New Year’s Eve ceremony at a ranch in Santa Susana, Calif.

Afterward, the 28-year-old Cuoco posted a few photos with her 26-year-old husband on her Instagram account. She wore a pink Vera Wang wedding gown and captioned one picture as “Greatest night of my entire life.”

The couple dated for three months before getting engaged in September.

Cuoco previously dated her “Big Bang” co-star Johnny Galecki.

Former ‘Sopranos’ actor paroled

Lillo Brancato Jr., the actor best known for playing a small-time wannabe hood executed by Tony Soprano on HBO’s acclaimed series “The Sopranos,” was paroled on Tuesday.

According to the Associated Press, Brancato has been serving a 10-year sentence for an attempted burglary conviction for his role in a 2005 shooting that left an off-duty police officer dead; he was acquitted on a more severe count of second-degree murder that could have put him away for life.

Brancato appeared in six episodes of “The Sopranos” second season in 2000 before his character, Matt Bevilaqua, was killed by Tony Soprano ( James Gandolfini).

Guns N’ Roses and a retirement

A Las Vegas police captain who helped a rock star pull off an elaborate wedding proposal by arranging a flight on a department helicopter has retired rather than face demotion.

The agency confirms Capt. David O’Leary faced demotion to lieutenant for helping arrange the Aug. 7 private flight for Guns N’ Roses guitarist Daren Jay Ashba and Colombian actress Nathalia Henao.

O’Leary instead retired on Dec. 20.

Police officials in a statement say Officer Ray Horsley, who piloted the helicopter, is being transferred out of the Air Support Detail and will no longer be allowed to fly for the department.

Word of the private tour over Sin City came from Ashba himself, who posted a photo on Instagram of himself and Henao wearing helicopter headgear.

The couple married in September.
