Gunmen rob Spokane Valley woman on way to work

Gunmen stole a GPS unit from a 64-year-old woman today after ordering her to the ground outside a Spokane Valley home as they rummaged through her SUV, authorities said. No injuries were reported in the 6 a.m. robbery in the 500 block of South Farr Road. Police are asking for help locating the robbers and Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information. According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the victim confronted two men inside her 1999 Suzuki SUV as she headed out to go to work this morning. One of the men reportedly pointed a gun at her and ordered her to the ground, and the robbers then fled on foot when she complied. She told deputies that a GPS unit was missing from the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office brought in a police dog to help search the area but the robbers, described only as men wearing hoodies, weren’t found. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact them or Crime Stoppers, where tips can be left anonymously. The tip line is (800) 222-TIPS.
