Second Spokane bank robbery of the day unrelated, police say
Spokane police responded to the second bank robbery of the day just before 5 p.m. today on the South Hill.
A man entered the U.S. Bank branch in the 600 block of East 30th Ave. and showed a note to a teller demanding money, said Spokane Police Department Communications Director Monique Cotton. He is described as a white or Hispanic man. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber fled on foot, Cotton said. He did not display a weapon.
Police do not believe the robbery is connected to the one this morning at a Washington Trust Bank on North Maple, Cotton said. The suspects in that case were described as three black men.
