Obituary: Blasingame, James D.

BLASINGAME, James D. March 12, 1932 - December 19, 2013 Jim was the son of Newton Doyle Blasingame and his wife Blanche.

He was born on March 12, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA and made his peaceful journey home to the Lord on December 19, 2013 in Sun City, AZ.

Jim was raised in the Salmon, ID area.

He worked many summers helping his granddad raise race horses which he trained and rode as a jockey until the Korean Conflict.

After completing his 3 year tour with the U.S. Army 3rd Division, he returned to Salmon, ID where he met and fell in love with his future wife Kathryn “Kate” Goggins celebrating almost 60 years of marriage.

They moved to Spokane, WA at which time he started working in the insurance industry leading up to the ownership of his own agency.

Dad enjoyed many passions in life that included family, friends, reciting poetry, the gift of telling great jokes and most of all his best 4-legged friend, Murphy.

He took great pride in building or remodeling all of his homes.

The last one being their retirement home in Sun City, AZ.

Dad gave from his heart and willing spirit to the needs of neighbors, friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Kate, daughter Sue (Bill) Pinkerton, Jimi Louise (deceased); sons Scott (Kelly) and Brian; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters Beverly, Beulah and brother Frank, Aunt Ruby and many cousins.

He was very much loved by his family, friends, and Murphy.

He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in the spring.
