Obituary: Gorset, Elaine Bernice

Age 65

GORSET, Elaine Bernice (Age 65) Elaine was born February 26, 1948 in Lewiston, ID., to Marvin and Ruby Gorset.

She lost her courageous battle with cancer January 3, 2014.

She made Spokane her home for more than 30 years.

She enjoyed fishing at Marshall Lake in the summer and the sunsets in Hawaii as well as an occasional bingo game, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

Elaine successfully ran her home-based business “Class A Bookkeeping” for 24 years.

She also was the controller for Valley Best-Way in Spokane for 4 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin D. Gorset; and brother, Michael D. Gorset.

She is survived by her mother, Ruby Kjosness; sister, Marvette McMinn; and her husband Donald; Life Partner of 24 years Doreen G. Williams; as well as being the proud “Tete Elaine” to Sherry and Steven Wells, Teena and Eric Pokorski as well as Shayne, Karissa, Kourtenay, Tyler, Gaihj, Aiyjae and Ricardo; nieces and nephews Cindy, Christina, Daniel and Travis; extended family members, Robert Tallan and Vivian Smith-Tallan whose selfless gift of love and support made a “Huge” difference in Elaine’s quest for survival.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Thursday January 9, 2014 at Heritage Chapel along with cremation arrangements.

Her family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Cancer Care Northwest, Dr. Mark Johnson and Dr. Chad Harbour.

Elaine brought such joy to all who knew her and her absence will be deeply missed.
