Obituary: Van Voorst, Paul Lewis

Age 44

VAN VOORST, Paul Lewis (Age 44) Died in Peace with family surrounding him January 6, 2014 in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Paul was born in Canton, SD December 27,1969 and grew up in Hawarden, Iowa.

He attended West Sioux School in Hawarden Iowa and was very active in sports, he lettered in football there.

He started his sales career with Gateway computers when they were in a small building at the airport in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

He did not start as a salesman but wanted to be one.

He asked if he could.

They told him that he had to sell a stapler to the sales manager to prove his sales ability.

He was successful in that and became one of their leading salespersons.

He latter became a sales trainer for Gateway and traveled to various locations for the company.

He later held other various sales positions including Apple Computers and Microsoft.

He dearly loved living in Seattle, Washington.

That was truly his home.

He became a devoted Catholic and his Lord became the most important thing in his life.

He spent many hours with his dear friend and Priest Father Kemna.

His health forced him into an early retirement.

He moved to Post Falls, Idaho to be with his mother, stepfather and brother so they could help him manage his illness.

He is survived by his mother Kathy Ringgenberg and stepfather Larry Ringgenberg of Post Falls ID; father Norman Van Voorst (Tweila), Sioux Center, IA; and his brother Brian Van Voorst also of Post Falls ID; stepsisters and stepbrothers Leann Hicks (Tim) Sioux City IA, Michelle Clark (Tom) Sioux City IA, Ronda Yezek (Jerry) Burnsville MN, Daniel Moore (Kay) and David Moore (Jerlyn) of Sioux Falls SD; aunts and uncles include Pat Gayken (Larry) of Greeley, CO, Linda Blom (Doug) of Greely, CO, Judy Heffele of Yankton, SD, Geneva Van Beek (Albert) of Rock Valley, IA, Kathy Van Voorst of Canton, SD, and Joyce Van Voorst of Fallbrook, CA and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by two uncles, Marvin Van Voorst of Fallbrook, CA and Daniel Van Voorst of Canton, SD.

A Visitation and Rosary will be held at 6pm on Friday, January 10th, at ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1700 N. SPOKANE ST.

IN POST FALLS, ID.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 11th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 773 N. 11th St. in Coeur d’Alene.

Burial will be pending at Valley View Cemetery at a later time.

He was loved and will be missed by many.
