Wellpinit fends off ACH on free throw

Ronnie Flett’s free throw with 4 seconds left in overtime Saturday gave Wellpinit a 53-52 win over visiting Almira/Coulee-Hartline in Northeast 1B South play.

ACH’s Julianna Hughes hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force OT.

Kyra Antone had 19 rebounds and 14 points for Wellpinit, and Jada Colvin added 11 points and 10 rebounds. Monique Hughes scored a game-high 18 for the Warriors.

Odessa-Harrington 51, Valley Christian 23: Jordyn Tankey had 13 points and five assists and Casey Schlomer added 15 rebounds as the Titans (6-7, 1-0) defeated the Panthers (1-7, 0-1) at Harrington.

Great Northern League

Pullman 51, Cheney 41: Becca Wickard scored 18 points and Krystal Kincaid added 10 as the visiting Greyhounds (3-5, 1-1) stopped the Blackhawks (2-7, 1-2). Cheney’s Kayla Lemelin and Katie McGourin combined for 21 points.

Clarkston 50, Colville 45: Jaclyn Meyers scored 22 points and Charlie Dimke added 14 as the host Bantams (5-6, 3-0) held off the Indians (6-3, 0-2). Colville’s Tyra Brons and Sadie Learn combined for 24 points.

East Valley 65, Deer Park 16: Alex Rankin scored 16 points to lead the host Knights (9-2, 2-1) past the Stags (1-10, 0-3). Elle Burland added 13 points and Jordan Phelan 12 points and seven rebounds for the Knights.

Inland Empire League 4A

Sandpoint 49, Lakeland 24: Madison Schoening scored 21 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs (8-5) past the Hawks (3-11) in a league opener. Sandpoint’s Hailey Olin added 10 points.

Intermountain League

Priest River 59, Bonners Ferry 19: Katlyn Summers had a game-high 13 points and the Spartans (8-5, 3-0) used 17 steals to shut down the visiting Badgers (1-9, 0-4).

Kellogg 44, Timberlake 30: McKenna Stewart and Kelsey Carter combined for 19 points to lead the host Wildcats (6-3, 2-0) past the Tigers (7-7, 2-2). Timberlake’s Allison Kirby scored 13.

Northeast A

Freeman 52, Chewelah 48: Katie Vold finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds and the host Scotties (8-3, 4-0) hit 14 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off the Cougars (3-9, 1-3). Chewelah’s Kara Fredrick scored 24 points.

Newport 44, Riverside 25: Holly Malsbury finished with 26 points and eight rebounds and the host Grizzlies (9-3, 2-3) outscored the Rams (4-8, 1-3) 22-2 down the stretch to earn the win. Newport’s Hadley Stratton added 16 rebounds and 10 points.

Lakeside (Wash.) 57, Medical Lake 16: Jocelyn Cook-Cox scored a game-high 19 points and the Eagles (11-1, 4-0) held the Cardinals (4-7, 2-3) to 20-percent shooting from the floor to win at Nine Mile Falls.

Northeast 2B

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 45, Colfax 44: Mallory Kessler hit a 3-pointer with 1 minute left for a four-point edge, and the Broncos (8-4, 5-2) held off the Bulldogs (9-4, 6-2) at Ritzville.

Tommi Swannack led LRS with 11 points. Colfax’s Nicole Sheer scored a game-best 18 points.

Davenport 40, Liberty 32: Natalie Hayes and Allison Johnson combined for 20 points as the host Gorillas (8-6, 5-3) held off the Lancer (4-11, 3-6) and 25 points from Christine Denny.

Northeast 1B North

Selkirk 44, Inchelium 22: Katie Couch scored 15 points and Hannah Rick added 12 as the visiting Rangers (7-5, 4-2) pulled away from the Hornets (4-4, 3-3) after a tight first half.

Republic 70, Northport 7: Sierra McQuay scored 15 points and Haley McRae added 10 as the visiting Tigers (11-1, 5-0) eased past the Mustangs (0-13, 0-7).

Southeast 1B

Tekoa-Oakesdale 60, Touchet 33: Mattie Joe Johnson scored 26 points to lead the Nighthawks (9-1, 6-0) past the host Indians. T-O cruised after building a 16-3 first-quarter lead.

Colton 71, St. John-Endicott 24: Jenna and Zoe Moser scored 22 points apiece to guide the Wildcats (10-0, 5-0) past the Eagles (7-4, 5-2) at St. John. Zoe Moser hit five 3-pointers.

Garfield-Palouse 40, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 30: Taylor Redman had 18 points and five assists to lead the Vikings (4-7, 2-5) past the Tigercats (1-8, 0-6) at Palouse. G-P’s Kenzie McClanahan added 11 points and four steals. LWK’s Jazzmyn Gordon scored 10.

Pomeroy 47, Rosalia 42: Mackenzie Monahan scored 10 points and the visiting Pirates outscored the Spartans 17-4 in the fourth quarter to rally for a win. Mackenzie Reddish of Rosalia (6-4, 3-3) had 18 points and 17 rebounds.

North Star League

Kootenai 52, Clark Fork 29: Katey Mae McInturff’s 18 points and seven rebounds led the Warriors past the host Wampus Cats.

Nonleague

Brewster 69, Reardan 23: Chandler Smith scored 22 points and Monica Landdeck added 20 as the visiting Bears (12-0) stormed past the Indians (2-12).

Wilbur-Creston 74, Curlew 25: Kayla Reed scored 19 of her 23 points in the first half as the Wildcats (12-0) eased past the Cougars (5-6) at Wilbur. W-C’s Lauren Leyva added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
