North Division Bike Shop burglarized a second time

The North Divison Bike Shop was hit for the second time in about two weeks, when burglars made off with another $16,000 in Trek bicycles last week. About $20,000 in bikes were stolen from the same bike shop on Christmas Eve. Police arrested Christopher John Cannata, 41, in connection with the earlier burglary and said they recovered 16 of the 21 stolen Trek bikes. Cannata, a felon with 29 convictions on his record, remains in the Spokane County Jail on a $300,000 bond. In the latest theft, six Trek bikes with a combined value of nearly $16,000 were taken on Jan. 9, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. “Currently there is no suspect information,” a news release said. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest. Call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-222-TIPS, or visit www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org. Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward.
